Pop Filter

What does it do?

  • The pop filter is a tool used to deflect bursts of air that would cause unwanted pops in your recording. To do this, it either absorbs or reflects the air away from the microphone diaphragm.

Things to consider:

  • What types of vocals will you be recording?

  • How sensitive is your microphone to damage from bursts of air?

  • Can your mic stand support the weight of a larger pop filter?

How much does it cost?

  • You can find great pop filters for $15 or less.
